Sydney Leadership 2011 Participants
Meet the 2011 Sydney Leadership Program participants
The thirteenth Sydney Leadership program features an impressive line-up of CEOs, senior executives and high calibre individuals from across Sydney's corporate, government and community sectors.
The list of 30 talented and committed leaders selected for this year's program includes representatives from organisations as diverse as LendLease; The Asylum Seekers Centre; GlaxoSmithKline; The ICAC; Stockland; The NSW Department of Ageing, Disability and Home Care; The Australian Conservation Foundation and the University of Western Sydney—just to name a few.
The group will spend the year working together to learn what it means to exercise what SLA means by 'real leadership'—leadership that delivers real progress on complex and entrenched problems. Like all Social Leadership Australia programs, The Sydney Leadership Program uses our hallmark approach to leadership development which integrates the Adaptive Leadership model created at the Harvard Kennedy School of Government within a broader framework of social leadership. It's a powerful approach that directly challenges most conventional leadership paradigms—including teaching in 'real time' in the 'real world' and fostering leaders who can see and work 'beyond the four walls' of their organisations.
Graduates will join the SLA Alumni, a growing network of individuals with the capacity, skills and determination to create lasting social change, wherever they may be operating in the world.
The 2011 Sydney Leadership program is supported by fifteen employer organisations and eight scholarship providers including Johnson & Johnson Medical, AMP, Ageing, Disability & Home Care NSW, Suncorp, Origin Foundation and Australian Scholarships Foundation as well as an anonymous donor.
Full biographies of the thirty new Sydney Leaders are included in our Sydney Leadership 2011 Directory.
